Ohio Environmental Council Action Fund PAC endorses House Minority Leader Emilia Sykes

Columbus, OH — Today, the Ohio Environmental Council (OEC) Action Fund PAC announced its endorsement of House Minority Leader Emilia Sykes (D-Akron) in the race for Ohio House District 34.

“House Minority Leader Sykes has been a monumental champion for the environment and the people of Ohio since taking office,” said said Heather Taylor-Miesle, President of the OEC Action Fund. “During her time in the legislature, Rep. Sykes has sponsored key legislation to repeal House Bill 6 and supported legislation to ensure all Ohioans have equitable access to clean air, safe water, and local parks. We are proud to endorse her in the race for Ohio House District 34.”

"As the Democratic Leader of the Ohio House I am committed to fighting for environmental justice, equality, sustainability, and a state where we can live out our American dream. Climate change is one of our greatest threats and combined with systemically racist environmental policies is hindering current and future generations’ ability to fulfill the Ohio Promise,” said Democratic Leader Emilia Strong Sykes.”I am grateful for the endorsement of the OEC Action Fund PAC and hope that we can work together to end the injustice that too many face in our state.”
